WPC Frame

These photos were taken outside the small town in which we lived in for twelve years. My mother, then already in her mid-90’s, loved it when we drove around the countryside over weekends, just taking in the scenery. On one very cold, but sunny winter morning, we happened upon these abandoned ruins. She insisted on getting out of the car to explore. As we walked around, she wondered aloud about the people who used to live in the old houses:

“Who walked across these thresholds? What did they see when they looked through the windows? Who planted those trees? Look at the dry grasses outside that window! If these houses could talk, we could ask them all kinds of questions about their history.”
